New beginnings!

Ugh I have literally deserted this blog. Well actually truth be told I've been neglecting alot of things in the past few months. I am on the eve of becoming officially unemployed yet on the cusp of handing in my doctoral thesis. In the face of dwindling job opportunities I have decided that I am going to grab this opportunity.I want to use it as an excuse to explore the world of fashion and DIY in light of an also dwindling budget!

I think it's time to tell myself that I, being Irish, am not going to be a victim of the recession and all the economic doom and gloom but rather I'm going to embrace this time and try and become a product of the recession. Ugh I hate that word!

So I am going to try and use this blog as a source of inspiration, blog about outfits, DIY's, long walks, photography and whatever else I can get my hands on to get my creative juices going!

Yikes!

Ooooh my I have been the worst blogger ever. I have a good excuse though...I was in NYC!!!!!! Sooo amazing! Actually didn't do that much shopping, the boy did more than me but it was about time the tables turned. I did end up getting a few quirky bits that my wardrobe full of mainly basics is crying out for. I don't even know where to start raving about how amazing that city is, god... We were there for a week too so got sooo much done, I'll let the following pics demonstrate it a little better than I could verbally! The last pic, although not clear was taking outside the opening if Forever 21 in Times Square, in the picture are Rumi, Krystal and the Glamouri, three of my all time favourite bloggers!

Simple minds

 I adore the simplicity of this outfit-simple white shirt but the neck tie adds a touch of je ne said quoi! Very easy to add too, must invest in a white shirt, considering I don’t work in an office I have always ceremoniously avoided them. Have looked for these type of tights but to no avail as of yet. I did spot a pair in penny’s but unfortunately they only had them left in a medium which, again unfortunately, would leave the crotch of the tights pretty much around my knees, nice I know!

Feeling full of the christmas cheer as I finish up work/study in one part of the country to ehad for another and then finally home, whoohoo!!

Well almost...if only that edition of Elle hadn't been so small and if only I had be en able to find a copy of Vogue, grrr!

Camera found!

Whilst rummaging through the depth of mess in my car this morning I happily stumbled across my long lost camera, having thought I'd left it at home on the other side of the country I was particularly delighted with my find! Given that, for the moment, I am wearing nothing but a ring that is worthy of mention on a blog about fashion (I figured dirty wellies and a fleece, yes a fleece *hangs head in shame*). So here is the ring. Bout at a knock down price of two for the price of one in Topshop, the two rings bought for the grand total of €3.90 (thanks sister!) whereas before said bargain they would have cost €27 in total!! Score!

Also dreaming of being away on holidays, perhaps in Luxembourg visiting my friend and drinking these 'hotchospoons' yummmmmm....

Whitney eve for dublin

Trawling through my daily check of the news (entertainment that is) I see that Whitney Port's clothing collection (from The City fame) is dublin bound. Alila on Drury Street will be the sole stockists, not that I'll be running up to check it out, in my opinion she's yet another clueless fashion 'designer' celebrity. I mean have you seen her clothing when she's not on the city, the word clueless pops to mind!!
